Okami

Okami is another good, but somewhat odd, Japanesse game that centers around the adventures of the Shinto Sun Goddess who returns in the form of a white wolf in order to restore peace and order to Nippon(Japan). It is pretty well paced adventure game, which has amazing water-colored visuals which results in some stunning look for the game. I think in a decade people will look back and still comment on the visuals and the style of Okami. The actual game itself is a little better than Zelda:Twilight Princess. But it seemed to be easier than Twilight Princess and it took a lot less time. Even with the shorter overall game length, okami still takes about 50 hours to play through with all the sidequests. A unique feature of the gameplay of Okami is the "brush techniques", which are basicaly a freeze frame moment and then a gaint brush is used to draw symbols to execute moves (like slashing an opponent or creating a bomb). Okami was orginally on the PS2 but it was later ported to the Wii and using the wiimote to perform the brush techniques seem like a good idea but it falls short because alot of the time what you draw isn't what is excuted in the game. Overall, this is a good solid but I bought it for only $15 on amazon.

Although its a game that came out originally on the Playstation 2, This was a fantastic game to play on the Wii. If you haven't played this game before then you need to give it a try, games like these are rare and aren't made that much anymore. If you are patient with the game you will find a truly remarkable experience, and at this price their is really no excuse.

Okami is an adventure RPG game centered in the ancient Japanese mythologi, where the player takes on the role of Amaterasu, the japanese goddess of sun who takes the form of a legendary white wolf, in her quest to rid Nippon from the darknes of the dreaded Orochi and the ancient evil behind him.In Okamin you will travel across all the land of Nippon, going from plains and forest to dark deep caves and ancient temples, all while battleing several demons and ghost from the japanese folk.The most iconic part of Okami's gamplay is the Celestial Brush, utilizing the Wiimote to actually draw with it, used to solve puzzles and battle foes thorugh the game and the several technics of these.The graphics are in form of the most exquisite traditional japanese art brought to life in glorius 3D, all the game is fluid and full of color.Going hand by hand with the graphics is the music, traditionaly japanese songs going acord with place and moment, makes for a wonderful game experinece.Okami is a fantastic game, the story is deep and with many interesting plot turns that will keep you warped till you finish the game, also the game lenght is aabout 30-40 hours, wich means that it will keep you playing for quite some time.Overall Okamin is one of the best games available for the Wii, that most Zelda fans will dare not miss.

Normally I have a short attention span and can't play games like this for hours on end, but I played Okami practically all day today in between doing laundry. I would probably still be playing it now if I didn't get stuck on one part. Using Blossom kept failing me when Mr. Orange was doing the Konoha Shuffle or whatever it's called... There is no way to get out of that scene or save, so I just turned the game off. For $15 now you can't go wrong. The graphics are so gorgeous, way more than I expected from what I've seen in online images. Even if this were $50 retail I would say it's worth purchasing.
