Jumpstart Pet Rescue

My wife bought this game for our four-year-old. Where to start? The controls are really crude for a Wii game, and the onscreen menus are unforgivably confusing for a children's game. The graphics are primitive, yet somehow manage to tax the Wii graphics hardware at times, and still require load screen after load screen to access the various buildings. The gameplay mechanic is hopelessly confusing. My 4-year-old keeps asking me how to play the game, and I'm frequently as confused as he is about what to do next. Neither of us is a stranger to console games, but this thing simply does a terrible job of guiding the player. He just runs around the world sliding on the little waterslide with no clue where he should go or why.

I got this for my 3.5 year old. She was so excited to play but the load times seemed to be very long. Considering every move you make causes a new load screen this can get old quick. While moving around the game I didn't find many "games" for my daughter. I have recently tried a nickelodeon wii game that was one game after another. Would not recommend this game for anyone. If you HAVE to try it out for you self make sure you get it in the bargain bin. It will be there soon!

My 5 and 7 yr olds love the game and really enjoy playing recommended to any one looking for a safe fun game for small kids.

This is very disappointing. This cannot be viewed in South Africa as it is not compatable with the Wii consoles sold in this country.

I have already sent one back and got a replacement which is still not compatable.

It is disappointing as my daughter LOVES jump start and was really excited about getting it on Wii.

I have always been a fan of Jumpstart products, so I was excited when they came out with a game for the Wii geared towards young kids. My 3 year old is always trying to play along with me in games, but they are just too complicated for him and he gets bored and frustrated. Jumpstart Pet Rescue was perfect for him. It is basically an world that you can explore and play games in. There are 30+ games and adventures, 50+ learning lessons, and 75+ fundamental skills, so yes there is a lot to do! Now I will say my 3 year old is not too good at using the Wii remote but he is definitely getting better and this game is very motivating! Right now he has me use it holding his hand and he points to what he wants. The games are fun, his favorite is lining up objects smallest to biggest, but I know we haven't even touched on half the game yet.

I think this game is okay for 3 year olds as far as the games and what you need to do to play, but my son just has a little problem with holding the Wii remote correctly and aiming it at the screen. I can definitely see this game growing with him and with so much to do, I can't imagine him getting bored too quickly. I will say too that before the games inside it takes a few seconds to load which is frustrating to him, but I know most games to do so I am used to it. This is a great game for kids to play to learn and have fun, and if you are going to let your young child play the Wii, this is definitely a great game to start on. I of course don't want my son glued to the TV playing video games but the little bit I let him, I am glad that he has this game to play. It is bright, colorful, full of animals, activities and really is engaging to kids!
